At-home fitness hacks

If you do not have weights, a Peloton bike, or a treadmill, don’t worry! You can still hack it at home. Allow us to break down some of the most common excuses that may be holding you back, and let’s get those bodies moving creatively at home!

Excuse #1: “I don’t have the equipment. I don’t have the space.”

Truth: Here are a few items your home set-up that do not take up too much space:

  • Jump rope

  • Yoga mat

  • Resistance bands

  • Set of light-weight dumbbells

Or, in lieu of…

  • Weights: use canned goods, water bottles and your own body weight

  • Blocks as a prop: stack up those books

  • Resistance bands: try a towel and keep it taught

  • Ballet barre: a kitchen or dining chair that comes to waist-height

  • A fully stacked home-gym: enjoy those great outdoors

Excuse #2: “I can’t find the time. I’m so busy right now.”

Truth: Time is all we currently have, so now is the time. Schedule your sweat sessions, set an achievable goal, and structure your workouts. Your goal could be as simple as: “to break a sweat so you can push reset and start your day refreshed”. Your mind and body will thank you. And, the energy and endorphins will be flowing allowing you to be that much more productive with the rest of your day.

Excuse #3: “Where do I start? There is so much online fitness content from Youtube, Instagram, online apps, etc - it’s overwhelming.”

Truth: Pick a few sources that you connect with and stick with it! Better yet, start your workouts with East End Wellness. Once you’re in with us, you’ll be hooked and any “excuse” will be a memory of the past.
